HumaniFAI is a research and consultancy organisation specialising in human centred AI from a human factors perspective. We support organisations seeking to understand how AI enabled systems interact with people, teams and organisations in high stakes environments.
Our work focuses on how AI affects decision making, workload, trust, accountability and system resilience when deployed in real operational contexts. We apply established human factors and behavioural science methods to generate evidence that informs design, deployment, assurance and governance decisions.
We do not build AI systems. Instead, we provide independent, research led insight into the human implications of AI, helping organisations anticipate risk, support appropriate use and make well informed decisions about adoption and oversight.
Our core activity is research and consultancy on human centred AI. We examine how people interact with AI systems across the system lifecycle, from early concept and operational analysis through deployment, use, failure and recovery.
This includes understanding both intended and unintended consequences of AI use, particularly in settings where decisions are safety critical, mission critical or socially sensitive. Our work is grounded in human factors, cognitive science and socio technical systems thinking, and is designed to be methodologically transparent and defensible.
Much of our recent work has centred on the use of AI within operational research and decision support, the people and workforce implications of AI adoption, the contribution of human factors evidence to AI safety and governance guidance, and the dynamics of trust and trust recovery following significant system failure or loss of capability.
Across these areas, our emphasis is on understanding how AI reshapes work, not just tasks, and how people adapt, rely on and recover from AI enabled systems in practice.
Our research and consultancy helps organisations clarify human system risks, understand how AI changes roles and responsibilities, support assurance and procurement decisions, and design systems and processes that enable appropriate trust, oversight and recovery.
